Pope Leo condemns wars and stands in solidarity with the people of Gaza in his Christmas sermon


Condemned Pope Leo XIV in his first sermon on the occasion of Christmas Thursday "Debris and open wounds" caused by wars, referring in particular to the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The Pope spoke during a mass in St. Peter’s Cathedral about "The fragility of a defenseless population that has experienced many wars, ongoing or those that have ended, leaving rubble and open wounds.".

He said "How can we not think about the tents in Gaza that have been exposed to rain, wind and cold for weeks?".
