Abdullah bin Zayed and the Bahraini Foreign Minister chair the work of the joint committee between the two countries

Abu Dhabi, December 25 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired the work of the 13th session of the Joint Supreme Committee between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain, which was held today in Abu Dhabi, while the Bahraini side was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting of the Joint Higher Committee was attended by His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Community Protection, His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, and a number of senior officials from both countries.
At the beginning of his speech during the committee meeting, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and the members of the Bahraini delegation, stressing that this annual meeting embodies the depth of the close and established fraternal and historical relations and ties that bring together the two brotherly countries and their peoples who are close to each other.
His Highness said: “The patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the sisterly Kingdom of Bahrain, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, always makes this relationship a source of great pride for us,” adding: “The ambition of the leadership of the two countries for this relationship is greater, and we must continue this blessed path.”
His Highness stressed: “This fraternal relationship based on trust and constant consultation has contributed to enhancing joint cooperation and consolidating the strategic partnership between the two countries in a way that meets the aspirations of their people.”
His Highness said: “The UAE sees sister country Bahrain as not only a strategic partner, but a factor of stability and a pillar for consolidating many of the foundations of peace, security and development in the region, and an integral part of the process of progress and prosperity in the Gulf Cooperation Council and the entire region.”
He stressed, “Our meeting today reflects our constant keenness to strengthen our strategic partnership and expand the horizons of cooperation to achieve the aspirations of the two peoples.”
His Highness added: “We are proud of the continuous growth witnessed in our economic and trade relations, as the volume of non-oil trade exchange exceeded $9.3 billion in 2024, and we look forward to more cooperation in future sectors such as industry, renewable energy, infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and modern technologies.”
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of coordination and joint cooperation in international forums, in order to enhance the presence of the two countries and their positive role on the international scene, adding: “From this standpoint, we will remain supportive of Bahrain during its non-permanent membership in the Security Council in 2026 and 2027, and we confirm that all departments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and our mission in New York will be supportive of Bahrain.”
At the end of his speech, His Highness thanked His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani and the members of the Bahraini delegation, appreciating their important role in strengthening relations between the two countries. He said: “I hope that this distinguished relationship between the two countries will always remain based on cooperation and love.”
At the conclusion of the committee’s work, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, signed the minutes of the meeting of the 13th session of the Joint Supreme Committee between the UAE and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
