المملكة: The Deputy Emir of Mecca receives the Guinness Certificate for the Health Innovation Hackathon for Hajj and Umrah
Delivery Guinness Book of Records, after officially accrediting it as the largest health hackathon in the world, during its reception Governor of Jeddah His Highness Prince Saud bin Jalawi.
This came in the presence of the Director of the Ministry of Health Branch in Jeddah Governorate, Dr. Mishal bin Misfer Al-Siyali, the CEO of the Second Health Cluster in Jeddah Governorate, Dr. Shadi Al-Khayyat, and a number of health sector leaders.
His Highness was briefed on the efforts made in organizing this global event, which is the result of cooperation between the Second Health Cluster and the “Let’s Badr” program, With the participation of more than 16 government and private agencies.
Health system readiness
The hackathon aims to employ innovation in developing quality health solutions that contribute to improving the services provided to the pilgrims, and enhancing the health system’s readiness during the Hajj and Umrah seasons, in addition to empowering young national competencies, and consolidating a culture of social responsibility and institutional innovation.

The Health Innovation Hackathon for Hajj and Umrah, which was launched last October, attracted more than 500 participants and included four main innovation tracks, which included: innovation in health products, innovation in health services, innovation in improving the health experience of pilgrims and pilgrims, and innovation in health media, which reflects the diversity of solutions offered and the wide scope of participation.
This global achievement embodies the advanced status that health initiatives have reached in the Kingdom, and confirms the leadership’s keenness to support innovation and harness modern technologies.
