The National Supervision Center revealed Environmental Commitment announced the implementation of more than 58,000 monitoring rounds in various regions of the Kingdom during the year 2025, directing its supervisory focus intensively towards the industrial, mining and energy sectors, which alone accounted for 51% of the total rounds, after adopting the “risk-based inspection” methodology to enhance performance efficiency.

The center made a strategic shift in its field operations by implementing a smart model that directs monitoring resources towards activities with the highest environmental impact, intensively. The last quarter of last year 2025 recorded intense activity, as field teams carried out more than 13,000 inspection visits, within the framework of a comprehensive plan aimed at raising environmental compliance rates throughout the Kingdom.

Region of regions according to inspection

The Makkah Al-Mukarramah region topped the list of the most inspected regions during this period, as environmental inspectors visited about 4,000 establishments, to ensure Of its commitment to environmental regulations and requirements, due to its density and economic activity.

The Riyadh region came in second place with more than 2,500 inspection tours, followed by the Eastern Region with about 2,000 rounds, while the rest of the inspection tours were distributed to cover all other regions with scheduled and studied mechanisms.

Al-Harbi stressed that classifying establishments in the “high-risk” category does not necessarily mean their lack of compliance, but rather reflects the nature of their sensitive activity that requires… Accurate and continuous monitoring to ensure the safety of the surrounding environment.
