"Global Philanthropy Authority" It supports Gaza with 51 tons of winter clothes
Sharjah, 5 January / WAM / The International Charitable Organization continues its participation in the winter relief airlift, which is part of Operation “Gallant Knight 3” and the “Warmth and Safety” campaign, through its contribution by providing 51 tons of winter clothes, in addition to medical equipment and supplies, as part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the brothers in the Gaza Strip, and alleviate their suffering in light of the difficult living conditions and low temperatures during the winter.
Hammoud Al-Afari, relief operations coordinator for Operation “Gallant Knight 3,” confirmed that the UAE aid provided to the brothers in the Gaza Strip amounted to about 110,000 tons of humanitarian aid, which included food, medical and shelter materials, with a total value estimated at about 2.8 billion dollars.
He explained that the International Charitable Organization’s participation today comes within Operation “The Gallant Knight 3” through the “Warmth and Safety” initiative, which aims to provide winter clothing for the brothers in the Gaza Strip, noting that the initiative contributes to supporting about one million beneficiaries in the Strip.
Al-Afari pointed to the UAE’s ongoing humanitarian role in supporting the Gaza Strip, which included establishing field hospitals and a floating hospital in the city of Al-Arish in the Arab Republic of Egypt, in addition to the construction of 6 water desalination plants that purify and pump water daily to the Gaza Strip to secure safe water.
He also pointed to the initiative to treat a thousand children, and the ongoing humanitarian and fraternal efforts to transport and treat people with cancer in the UAE, who number about a thousand patients, in addition to supporting bakeries, providing artificial limbs, and all forms of humanitarian aid needed by the people of Gaza, stressing that these efforts reflect the UAE’s keenness and steadfast standing by the brothers in sisterly Palestine until they overcome this ordeal.
For his part, Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Shehhi, Assistant Secretary-General of the International Charitable Organization, spoke during his presence at Sharjah International Airport about the Authority’s participation in the “The Gallant Knight 3” campaign, through the “Warmth and Safety” initiative, which aims to provide winter clothes and supplies that protect the people of Gaza from the cold of winter.
He explained that the current shipment includes about 95,000 pieces of winter clothing, with a total weight of 51 tons, which are being sent by air to speed up their arrival to the beneficiaries and alleviate the suffering of the extreme cold, noting that another plane will be operated within the next ten days.
He also pointed out the continued shipment of many of the needs of the people of Gaza via ships, including ambulances, dialysis machines, medical equipment, food and health parcels, and everything that contributes to helping the residents of the Gaza Strip overcome their difficult humanitarian conditions, stressing the constant keenness of the UAE and its people to provide support and assistance to the brothers in Palestine.
