The President of the Central African Republic wins a third term

The National Election Authority of the Central African Republic announced that President Faustin Archange Touadera had won a third presidential term, after obtaining an absolute majority in the first round of the presidential elections that took place on December 28.

According to the National Elections Authority, Touadera, the candidate for the United Hearts Movement, according to the preliminary results, received 76.15% of the votes, ahead of former Prime Minister Anisé Georges Dologweli, who received 14.66%, followed by former Prime Minister Henri-Marie Dondra with 3.19%.
