Revealed The Ministry of Health reported in a recent official statistic that more than sixty-five thousand cases of pregnancy and childbirth complications were recorded in its hospitals over the past year, with “anemia” and “diabetes” topping the list of the most common health risks, in an accurate numerical indicator that calls for raising the degree of community awareness of the importance of early care and close periodic follow-up to ensure the safety of mothers and fetuses and reduce the risk of danger.

Detailed data showed that anemia associated with pregnancy constituted the greatest health concern for doctors, topping the list of complications. There are twelve thousand five hundred and forty-three cases, which reflects an urgent need to improve nutrition and therapeutic supplements.

"Diabetes" Second

And diabetes came Accompanyingpregnancy ranked second, recording ten thousand five hundred and forty-nine cases, followed closely by urinary tract infection, which affected eight thousand five hundred and forty-seven women.

Prepartum hemorrhage posed a major challenge for medical teams, as it ranked fourth with nearly eight thousand cases recorded that required urgent medical intervention, while more than seven thousand one hundred cases of chronic diabetes diagnosed before pregnancy were monitored.

Chronic high blood pressure

Statistics recorded more than six thousand two hundred cases suffering from Chronic high blood pressure before pregnancy, while four thousand one hundred and thirteen cases of high blood pressure accompanied by preeclampsia, which is a serious complication, were recorded.

Three thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven women suffered from asthma attacks associated with pregnancy, while the delivery rooms dealt with cases of postpartum hemorrhage for more than three thousand and three hundred cases.

The Ministry recorded six hundred and ninety-three cases of bleeding during the birth process itself, in addition to monitoring about about Five hundred cases of both heart disease and vein disorders, which required extremely careful medical care.

These huge numbers confirm the importance of strict adherence to pregnancy follow-up programs, for early detection of these chronic or emergency diseases, and dealing with them according to treatment protocols that prevent their aggravation and threat to the life of the mother and fetus.
