Emirates riders continue to shine in the Fatima Bint Mubarak International Show Jumping Cup

ABU DHABI, 16 JANUARY / WAM / The Emirates Knights continued to win advanced positions and gold medals, during the competitions of the third day of the thirteenth edition of the Fatima Bint Mubarak International Show Jumping Academy Cup 2026, held at the Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi, amid high technical levels and the participation of an elite group of international riders.
The tournament is being held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates”, President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and under the guidance and follow-up of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Women’s Sports Academy, President of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, and the Al Ain Ladies Club.
The young Emirati rider, Abdullah Hamad Al Karbi, was crowned champion of the international competition designated for young riders (25 years and under), riding the horse “Georgina Z”, in a race held according to the specifications of one round with a round of differentiation and a height of hurdles of 145 cm, while the Syrian Laith Gharib came second, and the Emirati Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzouki third.
The Emirati jockey Mohammed Hamad Al Karbi also won first place in the two-stage competition at a height of 120 cm with the horse “Foss,” while the Syrian jockeys Jawad Nizam and Hisham Gharib came in second and third place.
In the morning competitions, Syrian Muhammad Osama Al-Zubaibi won first place in the 125 cm race, followed by Muhammad Fadi Al-Zubaibi second, while Emirati Salem Ahmed Al-Suwaidi came third.
The second qualifying competition for the Grand Prix (140 cm) witnessed the victory of the Egyptian Amr Gamal Muhammad, the Emirati Muhammad Hamad Al-Karbi came in second, and the Syrian Amr Hamsho came in third.
The third day’s competitions concluded with the six hurdles competition, which was won by the Spanish Carlos Bosch Cibrian, while second place was shared between the Emirati Sheikh Mohammed Jamal Nasser Al Nuaimi, the Syrian Laith Gharib, and the Italian Simone Cotta.
Her Excellency Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Member of the Academy’s Board of Directors, confirmed that the tournament represents an important platform for supporting national and international talents, and reflects the rapid development of equestrian sports in the UAE.
For his part, Khalil Ibrahim, head of the judging committee, pointed out the importance of international competition for young riders in preparing them for major participations.
