Launching the first version of "Al-Murabaniyah camp" In Madinat Zayed

Al Dhafra, January 17, 2017 – The first edition of the “Al Murabbaniya Camp” was launched yesterday, Friday, in Madinat Zayed in the Al Dhafra region, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority in cooperation with the Emirates Scouts Association, and in a strategic partnership with the Department of Community Development and the Department of Education and Knowledge in Abu Dhabi.

Over the course of 10 days, the camp provides an integrated cognitive and awareness experience that enhances the authentic Emirati heritage and consolidates the values ​​of identity and belonging among young people, and its activities continue until January 25th.

His Excellency Abdullah Mubarak Al Muhairi, Acting Director General of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, said that the launch of the first edition of “Al Murabbaniyah Camp” embodies the commitment of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority to enhance the presence of the Emirati heritage in the lives of young people, and to present it in contemporary and interactive methods that contribute to consolidating the national identity and developing the authentic values ​​​​derived from the Emirati heritage, in line with the directives of the wise leadership in preparing generations who are aware and proud of their culture and history.

He added that the camp seeks to empower participants, build their capabilities, and enhance their positive participation in society, according to an integrated system that highlights dances, councils, and training in the arts of falconry, camel riding, desert physiognomy, cooking, folk games, poetry, and other aspects related to daily life.

He pointed out that the partnership between the Authority, the Department of Community Development, the Department of Education and Knowledge, and the Emirates Scouts Association, contributes to providing an integrated educational experience that combines education and heritage knowledge, and supports the preparation of a generation capable of assuming responsibility and actively contributing to the sustainable development process of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

For his part, His Excellency Engineer Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Undersecretary of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi, said that organizing the camp comes to embody an advanced model of national integration in investing in people, especially children and adolescents, as they are the pillar of the future and the leaders of tomorrow. He stressed that the Department of Community Development believes that building a generation that is aware of its identity, proud of its values, and capable of assuming societal responsibility, begins with providing integrated educational experiences that integrate family values, life skills, and national belonging, in A practical and interactive framework that touches their reality and addresses their aspirations.

He added that the camp is in line with the objectives of the “Year of the Family,” by allowing families and parents to participate in a number of activities, and enhancing the role of the family as an essential partner in upbringing and building values, which consolidates family cohesion and enhances community cohesion, and makes the camp a space for generations to come together around national identity and authentic cultural heritage.

He pointed out that the participation of the Community Development Department in Al Murabbaniyah camp stems from its role in developing an integrated system that cares for members of society, especially the youth, and contributes to enhancing their quality of life, and supporting the integration of efforts between government and community agencies, providing safe and stimulating educational environments that prepare participants to be active elements in society, and able to contribute positively to the process of sustainable development, based on a solid value system that reflects the authentic Emirati identity.

For his part, His Excellency Abdullah Butti Al Qubaisi, Executive Director of the Heritage Awareness and Knowledge Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, said that choosing the slogan “Our Heritage is a Trust” to be the title of the Al Murabbaniya camp reflects the Authority’s belief that heritage is a national responsibility, and that what we inherited from the founding fathers and ancestors in terms of values, customs, customs, and life skills, is a trust in our hands.

He added that the camp’s association with the “Al-Murabaniya” season, which coincides with the winter season, carries profound connotations, as it is a school of patience, perseverance, and the ability to adapt, just as our ancestors faced the harshness of winter with wisdom and determination. He pointed out that the camp transforms heritage from theoretical concepts into a living daily practice, where participants learn coffee preparation, council etiquette, desert physiognomy, and other values ​​and skills.

His Excellency Dr. Salem Abdul Rahman Al Darmaki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Scouts Association, explained that the camp embodies a practical model of linking the authentic Emirati heritage with the Scouting curriculum, stressing that this link is an integral part of the cultural and social heritage of the Emirati citizen, adding that the program presented to the students in Al Murabbaniyah camp was carefully designed to be a field educational experience.

He stressed that “Al-Murabbaniyah Camp” represents an open national school that contributes to building the Emirati human being, praising the strategic partnership with the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and the supporting bodies, which contributed to presenting a pioneering national model for the integration of heritage, educational and scouting work, in a way that serves the vision of the wise leadership in building generations that adhere to their roots and are qualified for the future of the nation.
