Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence / Innovation Forum at the Sheikh Zayed Festival
Abu Dhabi, January 17 / WAM / The UAE is making unremitting efforts to achieve the sustainability of the agricultural sector and enhance its contribution to national food security by adopting agricultural patterns based entirely on innovative technologies and solutions, in addition to packages of initiatives, facilities and incentives provided to support farmers.
The Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence continues its prominent presence at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in the Al Wathba area in Abu Dhabi, confirming its role as an effective national platform to support the agricultural sector, enhance the sustainable food security system in the UAE, and highlight the best practices and pioneering experiences in the agricultural field.
The award’s participation in the festival comes within its vision to spread the culture of excellence and innovation, and introduce the agricultural community to the award’s objectives, categories and standards, in addition to highlighting its impact on developing plant and animal production, and stimulating the use of modern agricultural technologies that contribute to raising efficiency and achieving sustainability.
The award pavilion constitutes a major attraction for visitors to the festival, as it provides informative and interactive content that reflects the amount of support the state provides to the agricultural sector.
As part of its annual participation in the Sheikh Zayed Festival, the award organizes five specialized festivals and 77 accompanying competitions, covering various fields including agriculture, livestock, beekeeping, local products, and flowers, giving participants the opportunity to showcase their skills and experience, enhance the spirit of positive competition, and exchange knowledge between various segments of the agricultural community.

The total value of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence amounts to 10 million dirhams, divided into four main categories and a number of sub-categories, making it one of the most prominent awards specialized in the agricultural field at the state level, and a powerful motivational tool to encourage innovation, improve the quality of production, and enhance sustainability.
Through its presence at the Sheikh Zayed Festival, the award confirms that its role goes beyond the scope of competition and honors, to include building an integrated system for agricultural development, based on partnership, knowledge and innovation, and in line with the UAE’s vision of establishing sustainable food security.
His Excellency Mubarak Al Qasili Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Festivals and Competitions Committee accompanying the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Award for Agricultural Excellence, confirmed in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, that the award’s participation in the Sheikh Zayed Festival represents a strategic opportunity to enhance direct communication with farmers, livestock and bee breeders, and to consolidate the concept of agricultural excellence as a practical path that contributes to supporting food security.
He explained that the specialized festivals and accompanying competitions constitute a stimulating environment for discovering talents, exchanging experiences, and showcasing the best agricultural practices, stressing that the diversity of events reflects the comprehensiveness of the award and its keenness to meet the needs of the various segments of the agricultural community, by combining positive competition, awareness, and knowledge development.
He added that the large demand for events and competitions confirms the community’s awareness of the importance of innovation and sustainability in the agricultural sector, noting that these interactive platforms contribute to empowering participants, raising the efficiency of local production, and enhancing the culture of quality, which reflects positively on achieving the country’s goals in building a flexible and sustainable food system capable of facing the challenges of the future.
