Uncovering the Sustainable Agricultural Rural Development Program “Rural Saudi Arabia” expressed expectations that the average monthly income of the program’s beneficiaries, small farmers and producers, will rise to more than 20 thousand riyals per person by the year 2030."Rural Saudi Arabia" Majid Al-Braikan said that this clear growth in the level of income of small farmers came as a result of a major and continuous effort that relied on several strategic pillars, which included the expansion of the program’s activities; The scope of empowering the program has been increased, with the base of beneficiaries of its support and services exceeding 200,000 beneficiaries, in addition to working to raise productivity, through the dissemination of “model projects” that have proven their success and their ability to increase production by rates ranging between 40% and 250% depending on each sector, in addition to adding value, by improving rural income and developing value chains, in addition to transforming producers into small investors, supporting local manufacturing and marketing operations, and achieving sustainability and technology, through the use of modern irrigation techniques and agricultural mechanization, to reduce costs. Operating rates of up to 25% in some operations, which contributed to raising the net profits of farmers.
Al-Braikan stated that the shift in the individual income levels of small producers and rural farmers is a productive investment aimed at making work in rural areas a competitive economic option for work in urban areas. Which contributes to ensuring the stability and sustainability of rural communities, pointing out that expectations that the incomes of small producers and farmers will achieve this significant growth and increase were based on the upward trajectory of the income level. The average income in 2018 began at the level of 9,500 riyals, and the program’s efforts succeeded in raising it to 13,763 riyals by the end of the year 2024/2025, achieving an increase of 45%, which indicates the success of the programs and projects supported by “Rural Saudi Arabia” in developing and cultivating local communities, and enhancing their role in supporting the national economy.
