"Economy and tourism" organize "Small and Medium Enterprises Forum – Government Procurement"
Abu Dhabi, 23 January / WAM / The Ministry of Economy and Tourism, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, is organizing the second session of the National Forum for Small and Medium Enterprises – Government Procurement 2026, which will be held on January 27 and 28 in Dubai, with the participation of more than 90 federal and local entities and national companies, including the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, along with senior officials and procurement managers, and inviting a large group of male and female entrepreneurs from the country’s citizens.
The organization of this event comes under the umbrella of the National Program for Small and Medium Enterprises of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, as it aims to raise the readiness of Emirati small and medium enterprises to compete for contracts and tenders from federal and local authorities and national companies that will be presented during the forum, and to enhance their chances of seizing those tenders, which contributes to the development of national entrepreneurship, and reflects the UAE’s position as a leading center for the business environment and emerging projects at the regional and international levels.
The forum includes a number of sessions discussing developments in the government procurement system in the country, enhancing spending efficiency and expanding the participation of Emirati small and medium enterprises, in addition to highlighting digital transformation initiatives and simplifying procedures for participation and entry into government tenders.
The forum will witness the announcement of new initiatives on empowering small and medium enterprises for government procurement, in addition to training programs and specialized workshops on government procurement, preparing bids, pricing and concluding contracts, as well as honoring distinguished entities, managers and project owners, leading to the announcement of the outputs and recommendations that aim to enhance the contribution of this vital sector to the national economy and build a competitive and sustainable economy based on knowledge and innovation.

It is noteworthy that the small and medium enterprises sector constitutes a major part of the business community in the country, as it accounts for a large share of the companies operating in the country in the Emirati markets, and thousands of projects and entrepreneurs benefit from training programs, technical support and marketing, which reflects the impact of national policies in empowering this vital sector and enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy, with a focus on building a sustainable Emirati entrepreneur base of project owners.
