Monday… the launch of formative tests and schools reveal the targeted lessons for students 9-12

The administrations of a number of public and private schools that implement the Ministry of Education’s curriculum have announced the schedules for the first continuous evaluation for the second semester of the academic year 2025-2026, for students in grades nine through twelfth in the general and advanced education tracks, as part of their organizational plan aimed at ensuring that the educational and evaluation process runs efficiently and regularly, and in line with the approved educational policies.

Announced schedules
According to the announced schedules, which Emirates Today reviewed, the continuous assessment tests (formative tests) begin on Monday, January 26, and continue over a period of two weeks to conclude on Wednesday, February 4. The study materials were distributed on specific days in a thoughtful manner that takes into account academic progression and reduces pressure on students, while giving them appropriate opportunities to review and prepare.

Tables details
The tests begin with the Islamic education subject on Monday, January 26, followed by the social studies subject on Tuesday, January 27, then mathematics on Wednesday, January 28, while Thursday, January 29, is designated for the Arabic language test for students of all grades included in the schedule, whether in the general or advanced track.

Scientific materials
Tests will resume after the end of the week on Monday, February 2, where students will take science subject tests according to grade and academic track. Students in the advanced track take the physics test in the ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades, while students in the twelfth advanced grade take the physics test, while students in the general track take science, biology, or physics and chemistry tests, depending on the requirements of each grade.

Basic materials
Students will take the English language test on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, as it is one of the basic subjects common to all grades and tracks. The continuous assessment tests will conclude on Wednesday, February 4, with tests for the remaining scientific subjects, which include chemistry or biology for students in the general and advanced tracks, according to the approved study plan for each stage.

Comprehensive study
The administrations confirmed in school letters to students and parents that the preparation of these tables came after a comprehensive study of the reality of the students and their academic needs, in a way that ensures achieving justice in the distribution of materials.

Adherence to instructions
She stressed the importance of students’ commitment to attending on time and adhering to the regulations and instructions governing the tests. She also explained that continuous evaluation is a pivotal element in the educational evaluation system, because of its role in measuring learning outcomes and periodically monitoring students’ progress.

Test ranges
In a related context, school administrations revealed the scopes of the first continuous assessment tests with extreme precision, allowing students in grades nine to twelfth to prepare well according to clear and declared content. In social studies, exams for students in grades nine through twelfth focus on the skills of the first unit, in an approach that reflects the curriculum’s interest in developing thinking, analysis, and comprehension skills, and not just memorization and memorization.

Islamic education
As for the subject of Islamic education, the prescribed pages have been determined for each grade separately, as the ninth grade exams include pages from 9 to 25, the tenth grade from 8 to 23, and the eleventh grade from 8 to 26, while the twelfth grade courses extend from page 8 to page 31, ensuring a cognitive progression and taking into account age and educational differences between students.

Different paths
The evaluation table included precise details of the chemistry subject and its various tracks. The tenth advanced track includes pages from 132 to 179, the eleventh advanced track pages from 96 to 137, while the twelfth elite track is allocated pages from 2 to 29. The table also includes the eleventh advanced track (2) with pages from 62 to 71, in addition to the general eleventh track, which focuses on the topic of formulas of ionic compounds from page 86 to page 92, in a step aimed at unifying evaluation standards and ensuring the comprehensiveness of the scientific content.

Diversity of topics
The evaluation also included biology, where the topics covered varied according to grade and track. Students in the ninth advanced grade study the structure and organization of the nervous system, while students in the eleventh advanced study topics on population dynamics, genetics, and the influence of behavior and the environment, while elite twelfth grade students focus on the influence of behavior and communication in animals.
As for the general track, eleventh grade students study the excretory system, and twelfth grade students study the digestive system, which reflects the comprehensiveness of the curriculum and its connection to the biological and functional aspects of the human body and living organisms.

Responsibility and discipline
School administrations called on parents to follow up on their children during the exam period, provide the appropriate atmosphere for studying, and enhance their spirit of responsibility and discipline, which contributes to achieving the best academic results and reflects the level of academic achievement expected during the second semester.
