The 96th minute smiles at Al Sadd… Firmino wins the UAE-Qatari Super Shield

Al-Sadd of Qatar won the UAE-Qatari Super Cup shield in its third edition, following its exciting victory today, Saturday, over Shabab Al-Ahly, with a score of 3-2, thanks to a deadly goal scored by Brazilian star Roberto Firmino in the sixth minute of stoppage time (96), snatching the title in the final moments of the match that was held at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha.

The match started strong by Shabab Al-Ahly, who opened the scoring in the 30th minute through Cesar Santos, with a powerful shot that landed in the net, giving the Emirati team the advantage at the end of the first half.

With the start of the second half, Al Sadd rose up and succeeded in equalizing through Firmino in the 55th minute, before Akram Afif added the second goal in the 75th minute, turning the score in their favour.

Shabab Al-Ahly did not give up, as Mohamed Jumaa Al-Mansouri brought his team back into the atmosphere of the match by scoring the equalizer 2-2 in the 78th minute, after a successful follow-up inside the penalty area, so that the match flared up in its final minutes.

With the match about to go to penalty kicks, Firmino appeared again at the decisive moment, as he took advantage of a ball inside the penalty area and scored the third goal in the 96th minute, giving Al Sadd the title amid overwhelming crowd joy.

With this victory, Al-Sadd added a new title to its coffers, while Shabab Al-Ahly lost the opportunity to win the shield for the third time in a row, despite the strong performance and fighting spirit presented by its players throughout the match.
