Abu Dhabi, January 25 / WAM / M7 Stables won first and second place in the 100 km youth and junior race (Najma category), while female rider Dawn Bastille from Al Reef Stables – Al Ajban topped the first round of the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Cup race (80 km), within the activities of the Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed International Endurance Festival.
The rider, Mohammed Rashid Mughir, clinched the youth and junior titles today at the conclusion of the race on the fields of Boudheib International Endurance Village, riding the horse “Sky Massimo”, recording 3:41:13 hours, with an average speed of 27.12 km/hour.
His fellow knight, Issa Abdullah, came in second place, riding the horse “SW Ecolum”, by only a second, with a time of 3:41:14 hours, and in third place was the knight, Saeed Abdullah Al Muhairi, with the horse, “Pretty in Bank TE”, for the Maghawir Stables, with a time of 3:43:08 hours.
The winners were crowned by Abdullah Al Naqbi, Director of the Support Services Department at the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, and Mohammed Hatem Al Junaibi, Director of Events at Boudheib Academy.
The rider, Dawn Bastille, with the horse “Berjas”, excelled in the first round of the Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Endurance Cup race, achieving 3:16:39 hours and an average speed of 24.41 km/hour. The rider, Mansour Saeed, came second on the horse “Shirola Simbra”, for the (MRM) Stables, with a time of 3:16:48 hours, and the jockey, Abdul Aziz Al Marzouqi, came in third. Riding the horse “SM Al Maghar”, for the Maghawir Stables, with a time of 3:16:51 hours.
The first round under the “Budheib Protocol” system was led by jockey Saif Fahd Abdul Rahman on the horseback of “Ismak Shakeeb” for Asifa Stables, scoring 244.80 points, followed in second place by jockey Omar Mohammed Al Muhairi on the horseback of “TTJ Renata” for Zabeel Stables, scoring 241.12 points, and in third place was jockey Khalifa Ali Al Mansouri on the horseback of “Sterlings Carlos” for Commando Stables. With a score of 239.16 points.
The festival activities will conclude tomorrow with the second round of the Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Endurance Cup race, for a distance of 80 km in 3 stages, the first being 30 km in orange, the second 30 km in blue, and the last 20 km in green.
