6 teams are competing in the 17th edition of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup 2026

The organizing committee of the 2026 Dubai Polo Gold Cup Championship Series announced the participation of 6 teams in the 17th edition of the Dubai Gold Cup Championship, which will be held from January 30 to February 14, at the Al Habtoor Polo and Equestrian Club and Resort, with a 20-joule handicap.

The participating teams were divided into two groups, the first included the teams of Al Habtoor, the 2026 Dubai Silver Cup champion, Bangash, and the Dubai Wolves, while the second included the Emirates, Ghantoot, and Jahangiri teams.

The tournament competitions begin in the first round, where each team plays 3 matches against the teams of the opposite group, with the top four teams in the standings qualifying for the semi-finals, where the leader will meet the fourth-placed team, the second will meet the third, and the two winners will qualify for the final match.

This came during the press conference held by the organizing committee, today, Monday, at the tournament headquarters to conduct the tournament draw, which resulted in the UAE team led by Her Highness Sheikha Maitha bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum facing the Bangash team led by Haider Bangash in the opening match.

Saeed Bin Dari expressed his great appreciation for all the efforts that contributed to the launch of the Dubai Gold Cup Polo Championship and its reaching its 17th edition, stressing that achieving this level of organization and readiness came as a result of close work and cooperation between the various concerned parties.

He also pointed out that the tournament represents the product of an integrated system that works in the spirit of one team, which was reflected in the organizational and technical outputs that keep pace with the highest international standards.

Issa Sharif Al Marzouqi stressed that the launch of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup 2026 embodies the leading position that Dubai occupies in hosting major international sporting tournaments and events, expressing his pride in partnering with the organizing authorities in hosting a prestigious event of this size.
