"edge" Signing a four-way cooperation agreement to explore opportunities for deploying and localizing an advanced autonomous logistics platform

ABU DHABI, 27 JANUARY / WAM / EDGE, one of the global groups in the field of advanced technology and defense, announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Technological Innovation Institute, a world leader in applied research and advanced technologies, and both “Steer AI”, which specializes in autonomous driving technologies and fleet management in rugged environments, and “Micropolis”, the company specialized in manufacturing robotic systems, with the aim of exploring opportunities for deploying and localizing an advanced autonomous logistics platform.

The platform is designed to automate the movement of assets within and between manufacturing facilities, by integrating advanced unmanned ground vehicles customized according to operational requirements, and software systems supported by artificial intelligence.

The advanced features of advanced autonomous logistics platforms include an integrated set of capabilities, most notably fleet management, navigation and safety, digital twins, situational awareness, operational performance improvement, advanced analytics, and integration with enterprise systems.

This partnership aims to integrate complementary technologies provided by each entity to provide an integrated autonomous logistics platform.

In this context, Micropolis will undertake the basic platform and equipment for unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) in several operational categories (M1 and M2) that are suitable for different operating environments.

On the other hand, “Steer AI” will provide the command and control layer through the “CoreConnect” fleet management system, enabling operators to plan, execute and supervise autonomous missions using a single interface for managing fleets of unmanned vehicles. While the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) provides advanced analytics and situational awareness capabilities supported by sovereign artificial intelligence through the “TACTICAai” platform, which integrates data received from multiple sources from various sensors, domains, platforms and systems to transform Raw information and the application of advanced analytics to produce in-depth, actionable insights.

The agreement, which was signed during the Unmanned Systems Exhibition (UMEX) and the Simulation and Training Exhibition (SimTEX) 2026, is a prominent milestone in enhancing the UAE’s sovereign expertise in unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), artificial intelligence systems, and smart infrastructure, and represents a prominent strategic milestone in the path of developing sovereign national capabilities in the fields of unmanned ground vehicles, artificial intelligence systems, and smart infrastructure.

In line with the general direction and comprehensive vision of the EDGE Group to enhance coordination and integration at the systems level, this alliance is expected to provide an integrated autonomous logistics solution that combines hardware, artificial intelligence, and software, allowing for more flexible and scalable operations.

Badr Al Jabri, Vice President of Manufacturing Technologies at Edge Bridge, said: “As a driving force for integrating emerging technologies into the UAE’s defense industrial system, we are working to expand our partnerships with the growing national independence system to enhance the development of advanced manufacturing systems, and this agreement constitutes an essential station in our journey towards building integrated sovereign capabilities that extend from advanced research to manufacturing on a wide industrial level.”

For her part, Dr. Najwa Al-Araj, CEO of the Technology Innovation Institute, said that the “TACTICAai” platform reflects our vision for the next generation of situational awareness, where information is no longer fragmented across sensors, domains, or platforms. By harmonizing data and artificial intelligence agents in addition to decisional workflow within a unified operational layer, the “TACTICAai” platform enables users to move from raw data to reliable and actionable insights, and works to continuously improve operations by recommending response options that adapt to the situation. Changing circumstances, with the integration of advanced security analyzes to monitor deviations and link threat indicators across different fields, thus reducing decision-making time and operational risks, and enhancing the role of sovereign artificial intelligence in supporting human judgment while keeping humans within the decision-making circle.

Michael Sonder-Bey, Acting CEO of Steer AI, said: “The real power of autonomous technologies lies in coordinating individual vehicles within interconnected fleets and integrating them with basic enterprise systems. CoreConnect achieves precisely this goal, through its ability to work with any autonomous platform, land, air or sea, in addition to providing central planning, implementation and monitoring of complex autonomous operations. We look forward to this cooperation being a model to be emulated for expanding applications of autonomy at the state level.”

In turn, Farid Al Gohari, CEO of Micropolis, said that this cooperation represents a fundamental step towards building integrated sovereign autonomous logistics capabilities in the UAE. By combining Micropolis’ expertise in autonomous ground platforms and industrial robots, Edge’s leadership in manufacturing and integration, and the advanced research of the Technological Innovation Institute in artificial intelligence and autonomy, we seek to provide production and scalable autonomous logistics systems capable of operating efficiently and reliably in complex industrial environments.
