Erdogan discusses reducing tension in the region with his Iranian counterpart


Search Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian – by telephone today – bilateral relations and ways to reduce the escalating tension between Tehran and Washington.

A statement from the Turkish Presidency’s Communications Department stated that Erdogan stressed during the call Turkey’s readiness to play a facilitating role between Iran and the United States of America in order to reduce tension and reach solutions to the existing differences.

The statement indicated that the President Al-Turki will receive, later today, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who arrived in Türkiye on an official visit.
