An awareness event for sick children and their families organized by the Basma Association in Ras Al Khaimah on the occasion of the Year of the Family
Ras Al Khaimah, 30 January / WAM / The Basma Chronic Diseases Association in Ras Al Khaimah organized a community awareness event for children with chronic diseases and their families under the slogan “Family… the smile of life”, in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports, the Emirates Sports for All Federation, and the Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries Company “Julphar”, at the North Winds Stud for purebred Arabian horses on the occasion of the “Year of the Family”.
Mahra Muhammad Bin Saray, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors, confirmed that the event aims to educate children and their families about ways to live positively with chronic diseases, enhance skills for dealing with daily health and psychological challenges, in addition to spreading the culture of family and community support, and emphasizing the importance of adherence to treatment and following a healthy lifestyle.
She explained that the event comes within the framework of the Humanitarian Society’s mission aimed at improving the quality of life of children with chronic diseases and empowering their families with the necessary knowledge and support. The event included interactive and educational activities for 52 children, guidance workshops for parents presented by specialists in the health and psychological fields, in addition to entertainment and sports activities such as horse riding, which contributed to bringing joy and happiness to the children and creating a supportive and safe environment for them and their families.
