Signing a memorandum of understanding between Dubai Media Incorporated and the Ministry of Information in the State of Kuwait

KUWAIT, February 2, 2018 (WAM) – Dubai Media Incorporated signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Information in the State of Kuwait – Kuwait State TV, aiming to enhance media cooperation, exchange experiences, and develop joint content that serves Gulf and Arab viewers.

This comes within the framework of the fraternal visit currently being undertaken by the Emirati media delegation to the sisterly State of Kuwait, and organized by the Dubai Press Club, within the framework of celebrating the fraternal and historical ties that bring together the United Arab Emirates and the State of Kuwait, and enhancing aspects of media cooperation between them.

The signing of the memorandum was witnessed by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdul Wahab Al Awadhi, Minister of Health and Acting Minister of Information and Culture, and Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, and President of the Dubai Press Club.

The memorandum was signed by Mohammed Sulaiman Al-Mulla, CEO of the Dubai Media Incorporated, and by Dr. Nasser Muhaisen, Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information.

On this occasion, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdul Wahab Al-Awadhi stressed that Kuwaiti-Emirati media cooperation is based on a common vision that enjoys the support of the wise leadership in the two brotherly countries, a solid support that constitutes a solid base for enhancing joint institutional work and expanding areas of cooperation in various sectors.

His Excellency said: “The signing of the memorandum of understanding for joint media production embodies this trend, and represents a practical step towards developing the media production system, exchanging content and expertise, and empowering media competencies to contribute to providing content that reflects the identity of the two countries and addresses the public in a modern spirit and professional responsibility.”

His Excellency added: “The Ministry of Information in the State of Kuwait views this cooperation as a strategic partnership aimed at developing media performance, keeping pace with digital transformation, and enhancing the regional and international presence of Gulf media through joint work and integration with sister media institutions in the United Arab Emirates in a way that serves the media mission and keeps pace with the aspirations of the next stage.”

In turn, Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Vice President and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council and President of the Dubai Press Club, confirmed that the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Information – Kuwait State Television and Dubai Media Incorporated reflects the depth of the fraternal and historical relations between the United Arab Emirates and the State of Kuwait, and reflects the common trend towards expanding the horizons of media cooperation in a way that serves the aspirations of the Gulf and Arab public.

Her Excellency said: “The current stage requires strengthening media partnerships that are based on the exchange of experiences and the development of qualitative content, especially in areas that affect the community’s interest and evoke the cultural heritage and Gulf identity, stressing that cooperation in programmatic, sports and heritage production and the exchange of news and coverage creates broad opportunities to present works that are more influential and closer to the audience.”

In turn, His Excellency Mohammed Sulaiman Al-Mulla, CEO of Dubai Media Incorporated, confirmed that the memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Information – Kuwait State TV represents a strategic step to develop media cooperation paths and enhance the exchange of experiences and media materials, in a way that supports the production of diverse content that meets the aspirations of viewers in the region.

His Excellency said: “The memorandum opens the way for joint initiatives in television and program production, and provides opportunities to present seasonal works in addition to cooperation in sports and heritage programs and competitions, which reflects the spirit of the common Gulf identity and enhances the presence of Gulf media in the Arab scene.”

The memorandum includes areas of cooperation that include joint television and program production, including sports, heritage, cultural, and social programs, and the exchange of news, reports, and coverage of occasions and events, in addition to coordinating and supporting digital platforms and television channels in the aspect of advertising marketing and mutual promotion of campaigns, exchanging or purchasing rights to media materials in accordance with applicable regulations, as well as exchanging expertise, technical support, and training, and facilitating logistical procedures for implementing joint work.
