A house fire in Homs kills 5 people

Five people died and 10 others were injured as a result of a fire that broke out last night in a house in the Ghouta neighborhood in the city of Homs in central Syria.

On Sunday, the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) quoted the commander of Homs operations in the Civil Defense, Obaida Al-Othman, as saying that the fire broke out in a house on the first floor due to a diesel heater, which prompted the owner of the house to flee to the upper floor, but the thick smoke that reached the upper floors led to cases of suffocation among the residents, and resulted in deaths and injuries.

Al-Othman explained that the number of deaths reached five cases, including three women and two men, while 10 injured people were treated at the scene by ambulances.
