The association launched an integrated package of field works in the Benban region, north of Riyadh, which included intensive afforestation operations, cleaning natural sites, and planting and dispersing seeds, with broad field participation from scout and roving teams and scout leaders.

A strategic alliance to combat Desertification

The Secretary-General of the Society, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mudayris, confirmed that protecting the environment represents a fundamental pillar of the Scouting curriculum, and embodies a commitment to the Scout’s promise and law to serve society and respect nature, in a way that supports national efforts to promote sustainability.

Al-Mudayris explained that these field activities are a live educational practice aimed at instilling environmental awareness in the hearts of young people, and transforming theoretical concepts into positive behaviors that preserve natural resources for future generations.

The event witnessed the concerted efforts of several sectors, as the Ministries of “Environment” and “Education”, the Riyadh Municipality, the National Center for Vegetation Development, and Technical Training participated in a strategic alliance to combat desertification and increase the green area.

A new phase of volunteer work

The field program included the descent of scout leaders and partners to the field, where the Secretary-General himself participated in planting the first seedlings, announcing the start of a new phase of collective volunteer work. To serve the wild parks.

For his part, the Assistant Secretary-General for Technical Affairs, Dr. Majid Al-Munaie, explained that the environmental field and outdoor life constitute an integral part of Scouting education, which enhances the sense of responsibility and national belonging among the participants towards their local environment.

The event concluded with honoring the distinguished partners and scouting units, in the presence of the leaders of King Salman Wild Park, in confirmation of the Association’s continued commitment to making environmental care a constant and sustainable focus in all its future programs.
