Al-Youm monitored the premiere of the movie “Barshama” in Jeddah, which includes an elite group of stars, most notably Hisham Majed. Egyptian Cinema received about 800 thousand tickets, in addition to achieving the highest daily revenue of more than 23 million pounds.

The events of the film take place in a satirical comedy framework within the high school exam committee, where the destinies of a number of characters intersect in an atmosphere charged with tension, interspersed with attempts at mass cheating and human situations that reveal different patterns of behavior within one of the most sensitive moments in students’ lives.
The city of Jeddah witnessed a remarkable public presence during the first screening, amid great interaction from the audience with the heroes of the work, in an indicator that reflects the state of momentum that the film has experienced since its launch, in conjunction with the growing demand for cinematic works in the Kingdom.

The artist explained Hisham Majed, said that the idea of the film goes back years, when director Khaled Diab offered him the treatment of the work, noting that he admired it from the first moment, and considered it different and distinctive, which motivated him to embody the character of “Abdul Hamid.”
He explained that the project went through several stages and stopped for a period before returning to implementation, stressing that “every work comes at its appropriate time.” He added that the film, despite its comedic nature, raises multiple issues related to education, most notably the phenomenon of cheating, as it is an experience that most people go through in one way or another during the study stage.

Majed indicated that the work does not provide a direct or deep message as much as it reflects simple daily situations that carry human connotations, explaining that the examination committee is a miniature model of society, revealing the difference in natures and backgrounds among individuals.
He expressed his happiness with the development that has been achieved. Saudi cinema is witnessing, pointing out that recent years have witnessed a qualitative shift in the level of production and revenues, hoping that this growth will continue during the coming period.
Nature of the character
While the artist Mustafa Gharib explained that his choice of the role came after his conviction in the nature of the character, in which he embodies the mayor’s son, whose fate is linked to passing the high school exam to ensure his father continues in his position.
He stressed that the film combines comedy and social excitement, as It reflects real pressures experienced by students and their families, noting that the “rivet” symbolizes the small piece of paper used in cheating, which constitutes a fundamental focus in work events.
Quality of work
Regarding the possibility of engaging in artistic experiments far from comedy, Gharib explained that he does not mind that, stressing that his main criterion in choosing roles is the quality of the work, with his constant keenness to present a performance that achieves acceptance and success among the audience.
