"Dubai Electricity and Water" There is an increase of 4.49% in approved NOCs during 2025

DUBAI, 12 FEBRUARY / WAM / His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said that the Authority approved, through the “Soqour” program, 132,981 applications for the No Objection Certificate service during the past year, submitted by 2,472 consultants and contractors, until the end of December 2025, an increase of 4.49% compared to 2024.
The program allows consultants and contractors to obtain the Authority’s approval to submit service requests the first time, accelerate the delivery of their projects and meet the expectations of project owners. The energy transmission sector approved 69,816 applications, the energy distribution sector 45,418 applications, and the water and civil engineering sector 17,747 applications.
His Excellency Saeed Al Tayer added: “Within the framework of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, we provide an environment conducive to the acceleration and prosperity of business, and we provide programs and initiatives aimed at facilitating the completion of projects and enhancing the happiness of those involved, to consolidate Dubai’s position as a global center for business, investment and entrepreneurship.”
During the year 2025, the demand for infrastructure project services, electricity network services, and water network services increased, which reflects the rapid growth of business in Dubai and the success of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority in continuing to develop its strong infrastructure to keep pace with urban and economic prosperity.
For his part, Engineer Hussein Lootah, Executive Vice President of the Energy Transmission Sector at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, said that the program contributes to accelerating the time for obtaining the authority’s approvals, reducing or avoiding violations, damages and fines, saving time and effort, improving field operations, in addition to preserving the authority’s assets.
The Authority publishes the technical requirements for applying for project services on its website, and also organizes awareness sessions to provide further clarifications about these requirements.
The “Soqur” program determines the extent to which consultants and contractors comply with the Authority’s requirements, standards, terms, conditions and guidelines when submitting their applications.
