Red Crescent: The President of the State supported the organization to be one of the largest organizations donors to humanitarian aid in the world

Abu Dhabi, February 17 / WAM / The Board of Directors of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority stressed the importance of the support that the Authority receives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” which qualifies it to be one of the largest donor organizations for humanitarian and development aid regionally and internationally.

The Council noted that the Authority has expanded its external relief, humanitarian and development activities, keeping pace with the severe crises, natural disasters and emergencies witnessed by many countries around the world, thanks to the directives and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Authority. He praised the role of benefactors and partners in strengthening the Authority’s humanitarian and development process.

This came during a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Red Crescent Authority today, headed by His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board, which,

In it, he reviewed the Authority’s achievements during the past year through the reports presented by His Excellency Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Red Crescent, where the cost of the programs and projects implemented by the Authority during the year 2025 inside and outside the country amounted to 924 million and 345 thousand dirhams, of which 255 million and 820 thousand and 550 dirhams are the value of those programs and projects on the local scene that benefited 218 thousand and 540 people in all regions of the country, while it amounted to 255 million and 820 thousand and 550 dirhams. Outside the country, 668 million and 524 thousand and 525 dirhams benefited 15.6 million people in dozens of countries around the world.

The Board of Directors of the Red Crescent also reviewed in its meeting the procedures for developing the 2026-2029 strategy in accordance with the Council of Ministers system.

In addition, the Board of Directors reviewed the community projects and initiatives implemented by the Authority last year, and the agreements it concluded with many entities to strengthen the bonds of partnership with them in service of humanitarian issues and discussed many axes that enhance the Authority’s journey and activate its mechanisms to advance humanitarian work to broader horizons and upgrade its various fields.

His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Al Mazrouei confirmed that the past year witnessed a major boom in the Red Crescent Authority’s movements in its local arena, and its presence in all regions of the country with its humanitarian aid and community programs. He added, “The leadership and excellence that the Authority has achieved in the broad fields of humanitarian giving will continue to motivate us all to provide more initiatives, activities, and programs that enhance the aspect of social responsibility. He stressed the importance of the humanitarian responsibility placed on the Authority in light of the current humanitarian challenges on the regional and international arenas.”

He said that these challenges imposed a new method of work and movement to meet the increasing requirements of humanitarian work due to the events taking place in many regions around the world.

He noted that the Authority is closely following the changes in the international humanitarian arena, and is working to keep pace with them through carefully prepared plans and proactive and forward-looking strategies that take into account the requirements of future humanitarian work and keep pace with it with more qualitative initiatives that enhance the country’s leading position in this vital field.

For his part, His Excellency Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei said that the Authority is guided by the vision of the wise leadership in enhancing the areas of humanitarian and development work, and is moving forward in upgrading its programs and projects in order to achieve the desired humanitarian impact locally and abroad, stressing that the current year will witness more initiatives that achieve sustainability in giving and meet the requirements of the segments and groups that the Authority targets inside and outside the country.

The Secretary-General emphasized that the Authority is proceeding to its noble goals, thanks to the support of partners and the support of philanthropists and benefactors for its humanitarian programs and development projects.
