Record growth for the health sector system in Dubai during 2025

Dubai, February 18 / WAM / The health sector in the Emirate of Dubai witnessed, during the year 2025, rapid growth that reflects the emirate’s vision of enhancing the quality of life and consolidating its position as a global center and a distinguished model to be emulated in advanced health care, as recent statistics from the Dubai Health Authority confirm that the emirate is moving with confident steps towards a more competitive and innovative health system.
Statistics showed an increase in the number of licensed health facilities in Dubai to approximately 5,800 facilities in the year 2025, compared to about 5,340 facilities in 2024, with a growth rate of more than 8%. These facilities included: 55 hospitals, (68) specialized clinics, (60) day surgery centers, (70) general dental clinics, (126) general clinics, and (222) home care centers, And (101) alternative medicine centers.
In parallel with the expansion in the number of health facilities, Dubai witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of health personnel, including doctors, nurses, and technicians, as the total number of workers in the health sector increased to more than 69,400 professionals in 2025 compared to about 64,100 in 2024, with a growth rate exceeding 8%, while continuing to attract elite medical talent from various countries of the world.
His Excellency Dr. Alawi Sheikh Ali, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority, stressed that the private health sector constitutes one of the basic pillars of the health system in the emirate, pointing to the rapid developments in infrastructure, smart solutions and quality services, which reflect the ability of this sector to keep pace with the emirate’s ambitions and aspirations towards consolidating its position as a global destination for advanced health care.
He added that the remarkable growth in the number of health facilities clearly demonstrates investors’ confidence in the regulatory health environment, and the incentives and flexible legislation that Dubai provides, making it a destination for major multinational medical institutions.
His Excellency stressed that the health sector is a partner in achieving the goals of the national agenda and Dubai’s future vision, not only through the expansion and development of health infrastructure, but also by attracting an elite group of medical, nursing, technical and administrative talents from various parts of the world, the noticeable increase in their numbers indicates that Dubai has become a preferred center for health professionals, who are looking for an advanced work environment, opportunities for growth and professional advancement, and a legislative system that ensures the advancement of their standards and the preservation of… on their economic and social stability.
For her part, Dr. Asma Al Sharif, Acting Executive Director of the Health Regulation Sector at the Dubai Health Authority, confirmed that the large increase in the number of hospitals, specialized centers and internationally accredited facilities enhances Dubai’s position as a preferred destination for health tourism, and a prime choice for those seeking quality of life and luxury, noting that the development witnessed by the health sector in Dubai is part of a comprehensive vision and action plans aimed at improving the future of health in the emirate.
