Closing of the 19th edition of the “Salad Championship” in Dubai

Today, Sunday, the Salq Championship, organized by the Fazza Championships Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, brought down the curtain on the competitions of its nineteenth edition, after finals that were characterized by strength and closeness, and witnessed eight competitive rounds, which confirmed the advanced position that the tournament occupies at the regional level.
The final competitions came with the participation of the Saluki elite in the categories of professionals, owners and amateurs, where the readiness appeared clear through the close performance, after a long season of preparation and training, which was reflected in the nature of the races that were decided with minute differences, amid a large audience presence that followed the details of the rounds until their final moments.
The Al Marmoom tracks at the Dubai Camel Racing Club were the scene of one of the strongest finals, where experience and ambition met, in races that left no room for clear differences, but rather relied on the accuracy of the start and good timing to decide the results.
Nasser Obaid bin Dalmouk Al Ketbi imposed his control over the professional races, winning first place in the Greyhound race for a distance of 1000 meters, by “Kobi” with a time of 1.03 minutes, and in the female Greyhound race for a distance of 1000 meters, by “Candy” with a time of 1.03 minutes, and in the male race for a distance of 2000 metres, by “Yaqut” with a time of 2.10 minutes. Females, 2000 meters, won by Saif Hamad Al Shamsi using “Whirlwind” with a time of 2.06 minutes.
Amateur runs
As for the amateur races, Qatari supremacy was witnessed through participant Abdul Rahman Al-Sulaiti in the female fencing race for a distance of 2000 metres, in the fencing “Moment” with a time of 2.07 minutes, while the second place went to Hamad Khalfan Al Shamsi in the fencing “Bahja” with a time of 2.08 minutes, so Qatar returned and achieved third place through Hamad Khalifa Al Kuwari in the fencing “Battle” with a time of 2.09 minutes.
Qatari Abdul Rahman Al-Sulaiti returned to achieve the male 2,000-meter freestyle race with “The Suicide” with a time of 2.08 minutes, and Juma Khater Al-Junaibi came second in the “Prestige” freestyle race with a time of 2.118 minutes, and Amer Mohammed Al-Mansouri came in third place in the “S2” freestyle race with a time of 2.119 minutes.
As for the owners’ races, which witnessed a great competitive competition, Saif Taj Al Balushi achieved first place in the female race for 2000 metres, by racing “Qamra” with a time of 2.11 minutes. The second place went to Majid Khaled Al Muhairi in the race for racing “Rimas” with a time of 2.12 minutes, while third place went to Matar Rashid Al Hassani in the race for racing “Rumuz” with a time of 2.13 minutes.
In the 2,000-meter race for male owners, Hamad Saud Al Ketbi was able to achieve first place in the “38 R” saluki with a time of 2.115 minutes, and Jaber Abdul Karim Al Balushi came in second place in the “20 R” saluki with a time of 2.118 minutes, and in third place was Majid Khalid Al Muhairi in the “19 R” saluki with a time of 2.12 minutes.
Rashid Hareb Al-Khasouni, Director of the Fazza Championships Department, at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, and Juma Al-Muhairi, Chairman of the Technical Committee for the Saluki Championship, crowned the first-place winners, in the presence of a number of members of the Technical Committee.
