Strong earthquakes hit the Afghan capital, Kabul

Reuters reported on Friday that strong earthquakes struck the Afghan capital, Kabul.
There has been no news yet about human casualties or the extent of the material damage as a result of the tremors that occurred in Kabul.

For its part, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center reported that an earthquake measuring 5.7 degrees occurred in Afghanistan near Bazarak, in Bazarak District of Panjshir Province, just 11 minutes ago.
The earthquake struck on Friday afternoon, February 20, 2026, at 5:09 pm local time, at an average depth of 87 kilometers.
