We support Syria’s efforts to maintain its security and stability

Today, Sunday, Jordanian King Abdullah II affirmed his country’s support for Syria’s efforts to preserve its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

This came during King Abdullah’s reception today of the Syrian ministerial delegation participating in the work of the second session of the Supreme Coordination Council between Jordan and Syria, according to the Jordanian News Agency (Petra).

During the meeting, King Abdullah stressed the need to continue working to develop economic and trade relations and enhance security cooperation between the two countries in order to achieve common interests.

He pointed out that holding the second session of the Joint Supreme Coordination Council is an important step to move relations forward, stressing the need for the meetings to contribute to the implementation of joint work agreements.

The Council represents 20 vital sectors and aims to advance Jordanian-Syrian relations towards a comprehensive strategic partnership in various fields.

Opportunities for cooperation were discussed in several sectors, such as water, transportation, and energy, as the Jordanian King pointed out the importance of integration between Arab countries and working on joint projects to enhance regional cooperation.

The Syrian delegation, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Asaad Al-Shaibani, included a number of Syrian officials, including the ministers of economy and industry, energy, justice, health, transportation, and agriculture.
