"Big lies".. Iran responds to American accusations regarding its missile program

The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday rejected the American accusations regarding the missile program, describing them as… "Big Lies"This came hours after President Donald Trump accused Tehran of seeking to build missiles capable of hitting the United States.

Foreignty spokesman Ismail Baghaei said in a post on the X platform. "Everything they claim about Iran’s nuclear program, Iran’s ballistic missiles, and the number of casualties during the January unrest are nothing but a repetition of major lies."

Baqaei did not clearly specify which statements he was responding to, but hours before his post, Trump stated in his annual speech about "State of the Union" Before the US Congress, Iran seeks to possess missiles capable of reaching American territory.

In an interview with Al Jazeera in February, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said that Tehran cannot directly target American territory, but it will attack American bases in the Middle East if Washington launches a strike on them.

Trump stressed again during his speech that Washington will never allow Iran to possess a nuclear weapon, saying that Tehran "At this moment, it is once again seeking to achieve its sinister nuclear ambitions"

Iran has repeatedly denied seeking to possess a nuclear weapon, but in return it affirms its right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

The US President also said that the Iranian authorities killed 32,000 people during a wave of protests that began in December and reached their peak on January 8 and 9.
Iranian officials acknowledge that more than 3,000 people were killed during the wave of protests, but they say that the violence resulted from actions "Terrorist" Fueled by the United States and Israel.
