The Federal National Council discusses ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation with the Irish Senate

The Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee in the Federal National Council, Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, met today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council in Dubai, with a member of the Senate of the Republic of Ireland, Senator Sharon Keoghan, where ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation relations between the two councils were discussed, in the presence of Council Member Humaid Ahmed Al Tayer.
The two sides praised the development of the strategic partnership relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Ireland, noting that it represents a model of growing partnership in various sectors, especially in the areas of trade exchange, investment and tourism, stressing the importance of building on this momentum to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation in the fields of innovation, technology, higher education and sustainability.
The two sides also agreed on the importance of activating parliamentary cooperation between the Federal National Council and the Irish Senate to support the paths of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and advance them towards broader horizons, stressing in this context the need to intensify coordination and exchange of experiences, and develop channels of institutional communication between the two chambers, in a way that contributes to unifying visions regarding issues of common interest in various regional and international parliamentary forums, especially within the framework of the meetings of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
