The conclusion of the Muay Thai competitions within the activities of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship – "Al Wathba 2026"

Abu Dhabi, February 25 / WAM / Muay Thai competitions concluded yesterday evening as part of the activities of the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship – “Al Wathba 2026”, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Presidential Office, at the headquarters of the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, from February 23 until next March 17 with the participation of more than 5,000 athletes. She is an athlete in 16 competitions.
The competitions were attended by His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, President of the Asian and Arab Muay Thai Federations, President of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, and Ali Khoury, Member of the Board of Directors of the Muay Thai Federation.
The final results resulted in an elite group of male and female players winning gold medals in various weights. They were Kulthum Akhlouf, weighing 51-55 kg, Kawthar Barab, weighing 56-60 kg, Youssef Akhlouf, weighing 51-55 kg, Yassin Karimi, weighing 56-60 kg, Omar Awad, weighing 61-65 kg, Muhammad Mardi, weighing 66-70 kg, and Ayoub Al-Khadrawi, weighing 56-60 kg. 71-75 kg, Muhammad Abdelaziz weighed 76-80 kg, Rakhmatjon Khodjayev weighed 81-85 kg, and Ayman Habashi weighed 86-90 kg.
The winners of the gold medals were crowned after the conclusion of the competitions by Ali Khoury, a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors, and Ahmed Al-Musabi and Mohammed Al-Shatri from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.
His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi said that the success achieved by the Muay Thai competitions within the tournament embodies the unlimited support of the wise leadership for sports and youth, stressing their endeavor, through these forums, to enhance the culture of Muay Thai and build a generation of champions to raise the country’s flag in international forums.
Al Neyadi praised the distinguished participation of the elite champions who represent the best continental and regional teams, stressing that the high technical levels reflect the value and status of the game in the region, expressing his pride in the great successes and the public atmosphere in Al Wathba, which has become a platform that combines fair competition and community cohesion in the month of Ramadan, thanks to the professional organization.
On the other hand, attention is turning to the judo events tomorrow, for men and juniors, with the participation of 147 players from the Emirates, Algeria, Brazil, Canada, Comoros, Egypt, France, Iran, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Morocco, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Singapore, Sudan, Switzerland, Syria, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, India, and Iraq. Kazakhstan, the Sultanate of Oman and Yemen.
79 players will participate in the junior category, and 68 players will participate in the men’s level, after adopting 8 weights for juniors from under 50 kg to over 90 kg, and 6 weights for men from under 60 kg to over 100 kg.
In a related context, the start of the football sevens competitions achieved an abundance of goals, and the first group witnessed FG Academy defeating Apex 2-0, and Royal Gas defeating Al-Hosn 2-1, and in the second group Al-Ittihad Masters defeated Game Changers 7-0, Al-Raqi defeated Al-Khatem 6-0, and the victory in the third group was attended by Al-Nokhba over Juventus 6-3, and MBZ defeated Angels 4-2, and in the fourth group The Sudanese club beat Liwa University 3-2, and Samba tied with Alvaldi 2-2.
In turn, Her Excellency Dr. Omniyat Mohammed Al Hajri, Executive Director of the Community Health Sector at the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Academy for Women’s Sports, praised the Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Ramadan Championship, and stressed that it succeeded in attracting members of society to this forum at all levels by practicing sports activities, and motivating the emerging generations to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle, in addition to the accompanying activities that suit everyone in the month of Ramadan.
During her review of the sporting competitions at the event site in Al Wathba, Al Hajri expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the organizers in presenting the events in a distinctive and professional manner, in a way that consolidates the distinctive cultural face of the UAE.
