State Public Prosecution: Calling and promoting the collection of donations without a license exposes its perpetrators to legal accountability

Abu Dhabi, February 25 / WAM / The State Public Prosecution, through an awareness film published today through its social media accounts as part of the Criminal Media Center’s “Awareness” campaign, explained the crime of calling for and promoting fundraising without a license.
The State Public Prosecution indicated the punishment for anyone who creates, manages or supervises a website or publishes information on the computer network or any information technology means to call for or promote the collection of donations without a license approved by the competent authority or in violation of the terms of this license, in accordance with Article 46 of Federal Decree Law No. 34 of 2021 regarding combating rumors and electronic crimes.
The publication of this legal information comes within the framework of the State Public Prosecution’s ongoing efforts to enhance the legal culture among members of society, and raise the level of public awareness of the legislation in force in the country, with the aim of spreading the culture of law as a way of life.
