Trump announces the start of “major combat operations” against Iran

US President Donald Trump announced the launch of a “major and ongoing combat operation” against Iran, stressing that Iran can never possess a nuclear weapon.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had previously announced that Israel had launched a pre-emptive attack against Iran. The Israeli army also announced that it had sounded sirens in various areas of the country “to inform residents of the possibility of launching missiles ⁠towards Israel” in response to the attack.
