Wajib Volunteer Association and Abu Dhabi Pride Team launch the Ramadan Meer Initiative to support families in the emirate

Abu Dhabi, 2 March / WAM / The Wajib Volunteer Society, in cooperation with the Pride of Abu Dhabi Volunteer Team, implemented the “Ramadan Meer” campaign in Abu Dhabi, within the framework of a system of humanitarian initiatives aimed at supporting needy and needy families and caring for orphans, coinciding with the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan.
The campaign, which was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors, embodied a model of community integration, as the efforts of volunteers combined to implement it within specific initiatives that reflect the commitment to consolidating the values of giving and social solidarity, and translating social responsibility into sustainable programs that contribute to supporting deserving groups and improving their quality of life.
The initiative was based on providing food support to the targeted families, in a way that reduces the burden of living during the holy month, in line with the foundations of the “Year of the Family,” and embodying the UAE’s vision of building an integrated system for sustainable community work, based on effective partnership and human solidarity.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan stressed that the campaign represents an extension of the inherent humanitarian approach adopted by the UAE, and a practical translation of the values of giving and compassion established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” which has become a global model to be emulated in the fields of humanitarian and development work.
He pointed out that the initiative contributes to enhancing family happiness programs during the blessed month, consolidating the culture of institutional volunteer work, in addition to consolidating the effective community partnerships that characterize Emirati society.
