The Maritime Security Center said in a statement "The MKD VYOM oil tanker, flying the flag of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, was attacked by a drone boat, 52 nautical miles off the coast of Muscat Governorate."Noting that the attack resulted in a fire and explosion in the main engine room"and"The death of an Indian crew member"

He added that the tanker’s crew, consisting of 21 people, had been evacuated, including 16 of Indian nationality, 4 of Bangladeshi nationality, and one person of Ukrainian nationality.
