Abdullah bin Zayed meets with the German Foreign Minister and they discuss strategic relations and regional developments
Berlin, March 4, 2017 – His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with His Excellency Johann Wadewohl, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, during a working visit by His Highness to Berlin.
During the meeting, they discussed the Emirati-German strategic relations and ways to strengthen and develop them in a way that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries and keeps pace with their aspirations towards a more developed and prosperous partnership in various fields.
The two sides also discussed bilateral cooperation paths and opportunities available to enhance the comprehensive strategic partnership that brings together the two countries in various sectors, including economic, investment, commercial and industrial sectors, in addition to renewable energy, food security, science and advanced technology.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the strategic relations between the UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany represent a model of constructive cooperation based on a shared vision to support stability and promote prosperity, noting that the continued development of this partnership reflects the depth and strength of the ties between the two countries.
His Highness explained that the UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany are keen to expand areas of joint work, especially in vital sectors related to supporting comprehensive development and achieving sustainable economic prosperity for the two countries and their people.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed regional developments and the dangerous developments in the region in the wake of the blatant Iranian missile attacks on the UAE and sisterly and friendly countries.
They reviewed the importance of intensifying international efforts aimed at establishing security and stability, and adopting diplomatic solutions that avoid further tension and escalation in the region.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Minister of State, His Excellency Abdullah Al Alaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability Affairs, and His Excellency Ahmed Al Attar, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany.
