Mohammed bin Rashid inspects the Al Mamzar Beaches Development Project, worth half a billion dirhams, as part of a package of beach projects costing more than 3 billion dirhams.

DUBAI, 21st April / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, inspected the Al Mamzar Beaches Development Project, the most beautiful family beach destination in Dubai, and one of the most prominent strategic development projects. Led by Dubai Municipality at a value of half a billion dirhams, to enhance the efficiency of the emirate’s coastal and beach infrastructure, and transform Dubai’s beaches into global urban and tourism icons, reflecting Dubai’s future ambitions, and providing an integrated urban environment that enhances a healthy lifestyle, community cohesion, and environmental sustainability.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said: “As part of our program to make Dubai the best city to live in the world by 2040, we recently approved Dubai’s plan to develop beaches worth 3 billion dirhams, with the aim of increasing the capacity of Dubai’s beaches for tourists and visitors by 170%. And the work has begun. The work teams have not stopped achieving, and no slowdown has occurred and will not occur.”

His Highness added: “Today I inspected one of the strategic projects, the Al Mamzar Beaches Project, which is nearing completion to be the most beautiful beach destination for families in Dubai, capable of accommodating 7 million visitors annually and on an area of ​​4 million square feet.”

His Highness continued: “The projects are continuing… the work will not stop… the pace will double… we have a development agenda… and we are committed to our agenda… and what comes next will be bigger and more beautiful, God willing.”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was accompanied during the visit by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Council for Ports and Border Security, His Excellency Matar Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Urban Planning in the Emirate of Dubai, and His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai.

During the visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum listened to an explanation from His Excellency Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalaita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, about the latest developments in the Al Mamzar Beaches Development Project, which represents part of the specific beach projects whose value exceeds 3 billion dirhams, within the objectives of the comprehensive plan to develop public beaches, which includes the beaches of the Corniche, Al Mamzar Creek, and Jumeirah One, in addition to the beaches planned for development, which are; Jumeirah Beach 2 and 3, Umm Suqeim 1 and 2, and Jebel Ali Beach until 2030.

The project integrates with the objectives of the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033, which focuses on enhancing public open spaces, supporting healthy lifestyles, and achieving community well-being, and is consistent with the objectives of the Dubai Urban Plan 2040, to develop beachfronts and enhance the efficiency of urban infrastructure, in addition to being consistent with the Water and Green Spaces Roadmap 2030, so that Dubai will be the most beautiful and best sustainable beach city in the world.

As part of Dubai Municipality’s keenness to develop the beaches of Al Mamzar and prepare them to keep pace with the increasing demand of visitors; The beaches will be provided with carefully designed service, entertainment and tourism facilities to provide the best exceptional experiences, consisting of 35 buildings and service facilities, in addition to being friendly to people of determination.

It will double the number of visitors by 170% to reach more than 7 million visitors annually, while it will increase the capacity of facilities and services by 500%, including rescue and safety facilities, in addition to providing more than 65 new investment opportunities, adding the project to Dubai’s tourism map.

Al Mamzar beaches include the first beach in the world designated for women throughout the day and available for night swimming, while Al Mamzar Creek will include a floating walkway, the first of its kind in the region, and a restaurant on the pier, in addition to 5.5 kilometers of walking, running, and bicycle paths linking Al Khor Beach, the Corniche, and Al Mamzar Beach Park, to form the first integrated experience of its kind in the region that combines the beach and the park.

Dubai Municipality is also working on managing the digital infrastructure of beaches, and employing advanced technology techniques, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things, as an integrated part of its efforts in the smart management of city operations, with the aim of enhancing public safety and providing the best beach safety services, by combining speed, smart systems and operational accuracy, which contributes to enhancing the protection of beach users and reducing risks, in addition to consolidating Dubai’s position as a regional and global leader in applying smart beach safety concepts.

His Excellency Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, confirmed that the beaches of Al Mamzar, including the Creek and the Corniche, will represent a luxurious beach destination that redefines the development of family beach projects, and enhances the network of beaches and sea destinations that the emirate owns, thus contributing to providing high-end tourist entertainment experiences that support the emirate’s position as a leading global destination in providing the best levels of luxury.

His Excellency said: “Dubai Municipality continues to implement development work on the beaches of Al Mamzar, which is progressing at a rapid and advanced pace to open the new beach destination in full readiness within a short period of time, in accordance with the highest standards of safety, environmental sustainability, and quality of services that improve the experience of residents and visitors alike. Our goals are clear in developing Dubai’s beaches: providing flexible destinations that enhance the quality of life, enhance the emirate’s attractiveness, and consolidate its position as a global destination for beach tourism, and the best city for living and working.” And visit the world.

Khor Al Mamzar Beach is one of the new beach destinations developed by Dubai Municipality, and it extends over an area of ​​2.75 million square feet, combining modern lifestyle, tourism, and luxury. It constitutes a qualitative leap in the development of beaches, through advanced infrastructure that places it among the most prominent water destinations in the region, as it was designed to redefine the continuous entertainment experience throughout the day at the beach and waterfront.

The beach includes a range of facilities and features, including in addition to the floating walkway; A 300-meter night swimming beach, barbecue areas overlooking the waterfront, children’s play areas, an indoor gym, fitness areas, multi-use playgrounds, as well as water sports areas, jet ski docks, and shaded beach lounges.

In the same context, Al Mamzar Corniche will represent a world-class destination dedicated to those seeking privacy, tranquility, and luxury-based beach experiences. It extends over an area of ​​1.25 million square feet and includes the first beach in the world designated for women 24/7, allowing night swimming according to a design that takes into account the highest international standards, and fulfills privacy and security requirements. It also contains a sports club that allows them to exercise, as the beach will be surrounded by a wall to ensure complete privacy.

The project includes a beach promenade dedicated to displaying works of art, thus adding a special touch to the beach and providing a new experience for its visitors, in addition to children’s play areas, service and entertainment facilities, fitness and sports areas, bicycle and walking paths, and shaded rest areas. It also contains an area for seasonal events and activities, in addition to a shaded skating rink.

As part of its efforts to enhance partnership opportunities between the government and private sectors and support small and medium enterprises for young people, Dubai Municipality was keen to plan the destination of Al Mamzar Beaches by providing future investment opportunities in commercial shops, food and beverage outlets and restaurants overlooking the waterfront, and renting water activities, sports facilities, beach seating areas, and advertising spaces, to enhance the private sector’s contribution to the project, and stimulate economic and commercial activity on the beaches.

As part of Dubai Municipality’s commitment to sustainable development and adaptation to climate change, and enhancing the ability to respond flexibly to its impacts, as it is one of the most prominent challenges facing coastal cities globally, 350,000 cubic meters of sand were used to carry out backfilling works on the beaches of Al Mamzar, with the aim of adjusting beach levels and providing the necessary protection for the beach and its visitors, based on specialized scientific and environmental studies, to protect the coasts and ensure their long-term sustainability.

The beaches of Al Mamzar, with its two parts, the Corniche and the Creek, are considered; It is one of the most important beach destinations in the emirate, which represents a qualitative shift in the concept of developing public beaches, going beyond the traditional approach to developing waterfronts, to provide an integrated destination with entertainment experiences that achieve social and economic value.
