The Community Development Authority in Dubai enhances communication with senior citizens and people of determination

Dubai, 5 March / WAM / The Community Development Authority in Dubai has confirmed its continued communication with senior citizens and people of determination, based on its keenness to check on their conditions and enhance their feeling of support and attention, in a step that reflects its humanitarian approach based on closeness to the community, enhancing community reassurance, and consolidating the values of togetherness that characterize the UAE society.
The Authority explained that these efforts confirm its commitment to its societal role in caring for people and enhancing family stability, as the Authority’s teams are keen to follow up on the conditions of senior citizens and people of determination, listen to them and their families, and reassure themselves of their conditions, in a way that embodies the values of compassion, solidarity, and mutual care on which Emirati society is based.
These efforts come within the framework of the directions of the “Year of the Family” and in support of the objectives of the “Dubai Social Agenda 33”, which places the family at the heart of development and seeks to build a more cohesive and stable society that enhances the quality of life and preserves human dignity.
The Authority stressed that Dubai society, and the UAE in general, has always been known for the spirit of solidarity and cohesion that brings together its members. These are values that reflect the strength of society and its ability to come together in various circumstances and enhance everyone’s sense of security and stability.
In this context, Maitha Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Community Empowerment Sector at the Authority, said: “Senior citizens and people of determination have a special place in our society, and checking on them and staying in touch with them and their families represents an integral part of our community mission. In such exceptional times, we are keen to be closer to them, listen to them, reassure them, and enhance their feeling of support and care.”
She added: “We believe that reassurance begins with sincere human communication, and from a cohesive family capable of containing the feelings of its members. Hence, we continue to provide awareness messages that support families and help them deal calmly and consciously with developments.”
The Authority continues to publish awareness materials directed to families that address ways to support children, people of determination, and senior citizens, psychologically and behaviorally, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining calm, organizing the process of following the news, and promoting positive family dialogue in a way that contributes to establishing a sense of security within the family.
The Authority organized a virtual session entitled “Managing Emotions to Support Families,” which aimed to enhance community awareness and provide families with practical guidance to help them understand their children’s feelings and deal with them calmly and contained, in addition to providing practical tools that enhance the family’s ability to maintain psychological balance within the home in various circumstances and consolidate the family’s role as a space of safety and reassurance for its members.
The Authority affirmed that Dubai society has always demonstrated its cohesion and awareness in various circumstances, based on a solid value system based on cooperation and solidarity under wise leadership that places the person and the family at the top of priorities, pointing out that the spirit of solidarity and mutual care among members of society will remain a source of reassurance and strength that enhances everyone’s sense of security and belonging.
