Dubai, 6 March / WAM / Dubai Silicon Oasis, the economic zone specializing in knowledge and innovation, and under the umbrella of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIZ), announced the conclusion of the third batch of the “Dubai MIT Design

The Demo Day activities witnessed the completion of the first phase of the program, dedicated to celebrating the new generation of design-based projects, aiming to address regional and global challenges. The third batch included 11 innovative startup companies, which were selected through a highly competitive application process.

The companies, about half of which are based outside the UAE, have diversified to include the sectors of artificial intelligence, healthcare, and sustainable materials, in addition to autonomous systems and technologies dedicated to the workforce.

The company founders participated in intensive workshops and mentoring sessions under the supervision of the program staff, with support from MIT students and the Global Growth Hub network.

The experience provided opportunities for methodological guidance and the ability to access the innovation system in the Emirate of Dubai, in addition to communicating with investors, partners, and government stakeholders.

During the Demo Day activities, the organizing committee awarded a total of AED 100,000 to the top performing companies, in the form of equity-free financing, in addition to one-year packages to establish businesses in Dubai Silicon Oasis.

The list of winners was topped by the Catrix team, which succeeded in developing a platform for rapid cognition based on artificial intelligence, intended for the use of autonomous systems and smart infrastructure; Wellmatics, which has developed an AI-powered platform dedicated to accelerating chemicals and sustainability research; Nasheed, a workforce verification solution to enhance compliance and safety levels across industrial and construction projects.

Apollo Medica, which combines artificial intelligence and wearable technologies to enhance medical rehabilitation outcomes, and The B were also recognized. any. Story, which specializes in developing bio-enzyme-based solutions to transform organic waste into eco-friendly cleaning products, with one-year start-up packages in Dubai Silicon Oasis; This is in recognition of their qualitative innovations that are scalable and have a tangible impact.

Pioneering projects.
