The conclusion of the Zayed Sports Championship 2026 competitions in "Abu Dhabi Legacy"

ABU DHABI, 10 March 2026 – The Zayed Sports Championship 2026 competitions, which were held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Court, concluded at the “Abu Dhabi Legacy” and witnessed many competitions that brought together athletes and community members.

The tournament aims to highlight the immortal vision of the late founder Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and honor his legacy by promoting the values ​​of perseverance and teamwork.

Over the past years, the tournament has witnessed remarkable development, and has now become one of the most prominent sports initiatives in the Emirates. It supports youth development, encourages healthy, active lifestyles, and contributes, through sport, to strengthening community ties.

Lieutenant General (M) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Abu Dhabi Legacy, said that the Zayed Sports Championship embodies the values ​​​​instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God have mercy on him, which are unity, perseverance and excellence, noting that seeing athletes of different nationalities coming together in a high sportsmanship reflects the ability of sports to inspire, connect communities and embrace the next generation.

The 2026 edition witnessed a diverse program of competitions, including football, padel, boxing, chess, swimming, jiu-jitsu and gymnastics, which contributed to attracting athletes from across the Emirates and the region.

Sheikha Al Kaabi, CEO of Heritage Abu Dhabi, said that the Zayed Sports Championship provides a platform that empowers youth, encourages community participation and nurtures future sports talent.

The most prominent results of the tournament resulted in the Sudanese club winning the men’s football championship after defeating Baynouna FC, while Al Wahda FC won the U-12 football championship title. Baynouna FC came in second place, Regional Sports Club came in third place, and BE Sports Academy won the title in the U-16 competitions, followed by Wolves Academy and Phoenix Sports Academy in second place.

In the padel competitions, Hoda and Jackie Palm won the women’s padel title, followed by Isabella and Anne-Marie in second place, then Kato and Vasilina in third place, while Anwar and Khaled Al-Yafai won first place in the men’s padel tournament, Samer and Hassan Mayet came in second place, and Hamad Al-Junaibi and Yahya Al-Kathiri came in third place.

The boxing competitions witnessed exciting fights in the youth, women’s and men’s categories, and Khoji Akbar Ibrahimov was crowned in the 50 kg weight category, Mohsen Jamal in the 60 kg weight category, Nour Amjad in the 70 kg weight category, and Neil Fao Ra in the 80 kg category in the youth category, while the gold medals in the women’s category were won by Jawahar Gharib (48 kg), Nastern Fathi (54 kg) and Emily Rzayeva. (65 kg).

In the men’s category, Abdullah Al-Sawadi won (50 kg), Turki Eid won (60 kg), Kaung Hetzaw won (65 kg), Farkhodjonov Javokhairbek won (70 kg), Ali Amr won (75 kg), Sobirov Ulugbek won (80 kg), Sayed Sedov won (85 kg) and Yusri Rizk won (+90 kg).

The chess matches also witnessed enthusiastic rounds, at the end of which Humaidan Mohammed Al Zaabi won first place in blitz chess for under 18 years, with 6.5 points, and Ghadeer Huseynov won the title in the open blitz chess category, with 7.5 points.

The swimming competitions witnessed outstanding performances in different age groups. Melissa Thomas and Anthony Caldas won first place in the girls and boys under 10 categories, while Jayda Ali and Yassin Fouad won first place in the 11-12 years category.

In the sport of jiu-jitsu, “Della Riva Al Reem” club dominated the overall standings, winning 8 gold medals, 10 silver medals and 8 bronze medals, followed by “The Force Sports” in second place, “Della Riva Al Raha” in third place, and “Etizan Fitness” in fourth place.
