المملكة: Urgent | The Kingdom opens its roads to Gulf travelers through a network extending more than 73 thousand kilometers
Announced General Authority of Roads The readiness of its network extending over 73 thousand kilometers to serve travelers from Gulf countries, with the aim of providing safe trips that support Tourist movement and commercial activity through continuous field monitoring.
The authority explained that the Kingdom leads the world in the road connectivity index, which reflects an ambitious strategy to connect various regions with neighboring countries to facilitate the flow of movement.
Safety of travelers
To ensure Passenger safety, the Roads Authority confirmed that field monitoring teams work around the clock to conduct periodic surveys of the network, inspect quality, and address emergency cases as soon as they occur.
She indicated that the continuous field presence is integrated with the “938” call center, which is designated to receive reports and suggestions from road users outside the urban area with efficiency and high response speed.
Service Integration
The authority drew attention to the integration of services provided to travelers across the network, which include gas stations, rest areas, emergency maintenance services, and clear information signs that ensure ease of movement.
She stressed that these efforts aim to bring the Kingdom to the sixth global ranking in the road quality index, and to reduce accident deaths to less than 5 cases per 100,000 people.
The authority concluded that the application of traffic safety factors is in accordance with the classification of the International Road Assessment Program “iRAP”, in order to maintain an advanced level of services, and consolidate Saudi Arabia’s position as a sustainable global logistics center.
