Our national media is a battalion of stationed personnel to protect the home front in the face of challenges

The head of the National Media Authority, Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, confirmed that the holy month of Ramadan this year is passing under exceptional circumstances facing the state as a result of the treacherous Iranian attacks, indicating that these desperate attempts to undermine the security of the state have been shattered on the rock of steadfastness built by the brave heroes of the armed forces, and that the national media is a battalion of stationed personnel to protect the home front in the face of challenges.
This came at the beginning of the annual Ramadan meeting organized by the authority yesterday at the Royal Atlantis Hotel in Dubai, as part of its keenness to enhance continuous communication with media leaders.
He explained that the heroes presented a heroic epic as they efficiently and powerfully confronted the treacherous Iranian missiles and marches, pointing out that this high professionalism and extreme vigilance demonstrated by the protectors of the homeland is a solid combat doctrine and a firm belief in the right to defend sovereignty. He stressed that the heroic scenes of intercepting missiles and marches in the middle of the sky, instilled in the souls of citizens and residents a reassurance that cannot be shaken by threats.
The Chairman of the Authority praised the solid wisdom and far-sighted vision with which His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” leads the nation at this critical stage, stressing that the leadership that builds nations in times of prosperity is the same that knows how to protect them in times of challenge.
He pointed out that His Highness’s approach to crisis management is based on calm insight and deep confidence in the nation’s ability to overcome adversity, a vision that confirms that these difficult moments are only a passing station in the journey of a country accustomed to turning challenges into opportunities for advancement and cohesion.
He added that this leadership wisdom represents, in essence, a compass for the national media, guiding it to a balanced discourse that avoids emotion, is based on trust and awareness, and addresses minds as much as it reassures hearts, in the belief that the responsible word in times of crisis may sometimes have a more powerful impact than the noise of the events themselves.
Abdullah Al Hamed said: “Our national media is a battalion of those stationed in the trenches of awareness and an impenetrable fence that protects the home front.” He added that this meeting carries a clear message that the treachery that targeted the country’s skies has only increased its cohesion, and that the responsible word in times of crisis is the first bullet in the chest of aggression and its misleading.
He stressed that the nature of conflicts in today’s world is no longer limited to traditional battlefields, but has strongly expanded into the media space, where the war on awareness has become no less dangerous than the war with weapons. He explained that the battle of words, images and information has become a parallel front in which attempts to influence, mislead and spread rumors take place, which doubles the responsibility of the national media in investigating accuracy, establishing the truth and fortifying public opinion. He stressed that the conscious professional media represents the first line of defense in the face of misinformation campaigns and protecting the collective awareness of society.
He stressed that this crisis was a moral revelation in which major journalistic institutions of the highest professionalism collapsed, after they lost the compass of truth and wore the mantle of suspicious agendas, which reflects a moral bankruptcy that the national media must deal with with strategic caution, through the information boycott of anyone who deviates from integrity, and not giving these mouthpieces the opportunity to penetrate societal awareness.
He addressed the Knights of the Word on social media platforms, stressing that the digital footprint of every Emirati must reflect the values of “Zayed’s Children” in nobility, elevation, and self-confidence. He warned against slipping into polemics and responding to abusive accounts that feed on interaction. He explained that eliminating falsehood is accomplished by ignoring it and not contributing to its dissemination, with the need to be careful not to circulate any content of unknown origin that may be part of the tools of directed psychological warfare.
The Ramadan meeting was attended by Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Vice President of the Authority, Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of the Authority, and a group of media leaders in the UAE, editors-in-chief and senior officials of Arab and international media institutions operating in the country, companies operating in the media sector, and a number of famous social media platforms.
This meeting comes to exchange visions and experiences on ways to develop media work and keep pace with the rapid transformations that the sector is witnessing at the regional and global levels, and to build bridges of cooperation between the various institutions working in the sector, in a way that contributes to raising the level of media performance, developing the media work system in the country, and enhancing the role of the media in supporting the development process and consolidating the country’s presence on the global media map.
For their part, media figures and influencers on various social media sites expressed their great appreciation for the valor and vigilance of the men of the armed forces in defending the homeland, noting that the courage and competence they demonstrated in repelling the treacherous Iranian aggression embodies the highest levels of professionalism and the spirit of sacrifice and belonging. They stressed that the armed forces are an impregnable fortress and a safety fence for the state, and that what the soldiers provided reflects the high level of readiness enjoyed by the military institutions in protecting the security and stability of the homeland and preserving its capabilities.
They also affirmed their full confidence in the ability of the UAE to overcome this crisis quickly and steadily, based on the wisdom of its wise leadership, the strength of its institutions, and the cohesion of its society and its rallying around its leadership, stressing their awareness of the magnitude of the responsibility placed on their shoulders during this stage, in light of the spread of rumors and attempts at misinformation that the scene is witnessing.
The attendees affirmed their commitment to their role in conveying accurate information, enhancing awareness, and consolidating the spirit of national responsibility, which contributes to supporting the stability of society and supporting national efforts until the state overcomes this stage and returns stronger and more solid.
