"Shakhbout Medical" An entertainment event is being organized for hospitalized children in conjunction with "Emirati Children’s Day"

Abu Dhabi, 16 March / WAM / Today, Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City organized an entertainment event for hospitalized children, in conjunction with “Emirati Children’s Day”, which falls on the 15th of March every year, with the aim of supporting the mental health of sick children, in addition to highlighting the importance of enabling children to have safe and responsible access to technology and the Internet, in line with the slogan of the occasion, “The Right to Digital Knowledge”.

The slogan of Emirati Children’s Day 2026, “The Right to Digital Knowledge,” which was launched under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates,” President of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, focuses on enhancing the awareness of children and parents about the safe use of digital technologies, and enabling children to benefit from knowledge and information online responsibly.

The logo also highlights the importance of protecting children from digital dangers, such as cyberbullying, exposure to inappropriate content, and online grooming attempts, in addition to the dangers of unconsciously sharing personal information.

Dr. Ahmed Hassan Al Mazmi, Consultant in Pediatrics and Intensive Care for Premature and Newborns at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, stressed that protecting children’s health at the present time, whether through providing medical care or through promoting a culture of prevention and health awareness for their families, represents a real investment in a brighter future for the UAE.

He added that the responsibility of pediatricians increases in this context to be active partners in achieving this vision, by providing the best levels of health care and contributing to providing a healthy and safe environment that supports children’s growth and development.

Dr. Aisha Al Kaabi, Consultant and Head of the Department of General Pediatrics at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, said that Emirati Children’s Day represents an occasion to celebrate the joy of every child and their unlimited potential and energies, noting that her work in the field of pediatrics allows her to follow the stages of children’s development and the growth of their curiosity and abilities day after day.

She added that caring for children’s health is not limited to providing treatment to them only, but also contributes to shaping the features of the future of the UAE, stressing that investing in children today means empowering the leaders, innovators and protectors of the nation tomorrow.
