Gold prices rise

New York, March 17 / WAM / The price of gold rose slightly today, Tuesday, as it rose in spot transactions by 0.4% to $5,023.19 per ounce by 02:51 GMT.

US gold futures for April delivery rose 0.5% to $5,027.20.

As for other precious metals, silver in spot transactions rose 0.6% to $81.28 per ounce, platinum in spot transactions increased 2.2% to $2,161.35, and palladium rose 1.4% to $1,620.45.
