Dubai, March 28 / WAM / The French horse “Calandagan” won the title of the “Longines Dubai Shaima Classic” race for purebred hybrid horses “Class One”, the eighth round of the evening of the 30th Dubai World Cup 2026, which was held today at the “Meydan” international track.
“Kalandagan”, owned by the Aga Khan Studs SCEA, under the supervision of coach Francis-Henri Gravard and led by jockey Michael Barzalona, was able to win the race, which extended for a distance of 2,410 meters on the grass track, with the participation of 6 of the world’s elite horses, and the value of its prizes amounted to 6 million dollars, sponsored by “Longines”.
Kalandagan recorded a time of 2:27:88 minutes, winning first place and winning a prize money amounting to $3.48 million.
The Emirati horse “West Wind Blues,” owned by Abdullah Al Mansouri, supervised by trainers Simon and Ed Crisford and driven by Rosa Ryan, came in second place, achieving a prize of $1.2 million, while third place came in the Italian horse “Giavelotto,” owned by Scuderia La Tessa and Vaibhav Shah, supervised by trainer Marco Botti and led by jockey James Doyle, and won $600,000.
