30% Emiratisation rate in federal higher education institutions. We coordinate with “Nafis” in private universities

The Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdul Manan Al Awar, revealed that the percentage of Emiratisation in the teaching staff in federal higher education institutions reached about 30%, indicating that the Ministry cooperated with the Education, Human Development and Community Council and developed five-year plans to attract national competencies to the three federal higher education institutions, indicating that the Ministry has targets for Emiratisation in private higher education institutions, within comprehensive Emiratisation policies, and there is coordination between the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, The Nafs Program and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to unify these trends and efforts.
In his response to a question from a member of the National Council, Dr. Adnan Hamad Al-Hammadi, about the localization of teaching in colleges and universities, Al-Awar confirmed that there has been a remarkable development in educational institutions in their size and growth, which resulted in the growth of the number of students enrolled in higher education, and the growth in the size of the competencies that have been attracted to work in these university institutions. We have 47 national educational institutions, including three federal institutions, and 44 local higher education institutions, and Saudization rates in academic staff have increased. And administrative levels from the academic year 2021-2022, which is the beginning of the measurement year, to more than 24%, and federal institutions achieve higher rates of Emiratisation, and during the same period the percentage rose to more than 30%.
He said: “The Ministry has cooperated with the Education, Human Development and Community Council and has developed five-year plans to attract national competencies to the three federal higher education institutions, and to qualify students and integrate them into the labor market. Among the plans is to provide support programs for developing academic cadres and integrating national competencies into them. Regarding teaching assistants in universities, the Ministry has re-engineered the scholarship program and policies, where the student is sent for a purpose and purpose specified by the scholarship body, and cooperation and signing are also carried out. Partnership with higher education institutions in the country to activate programs and exploit federal resources available to support the enhancement of national competencies and their scholarships, to ensure that they manage this program in partnership with us and with the institution to which the student will be sent on scholarship in the specializations that are being negotiated.
