Dubai Police impounded 1,230 vehicles and issued 33,372 violations

DUBAI, 5 APRIL / WAM / Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Traffic Department at Dubai Police, confirmed that the “Quiet Roads” initiative achieved tangible field results, resulting in the seizure of 1,230 vehicles and the issuance of 33,372 violations.

He said that the initiative came in line with the goals of the Dubai Police General Command to maintain public tranquility and raise the level of security, after monitoring a number of challenges associated with negative traffic behaviors in some residential neighborhoods, the most prominent of which are noise-making, parade driving, and making illegal modifications to vehicles, which are practices that directly affect the comfort of residents and the quality of life within residential areas.

He stated that the violations that were seized included 1,178 violations for making changes to the vehicle’s engine or chassis without a license, 412 violations for driving a vehicle that causes noise, 341 violations for driving a vehicle in a way that endangers the lives, safety, or security of others, and 230 violations for using a horn or vehicle recorder in a way that would disturb others.

He added that the campaign also resulted in the seizure of 17,117 violations related to motorcycles, and 14,094 violations for electric and bicycles.
