The Sharjah Chamber looks forward to the investment opportunities provided by artificial intelligence
Sharjah, April 6 / WAM / The Sharjah Training and Development Center of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry today organized a session entitled “Artificial Intelligence and the Investment Compass” as part of its efforts to enhance knowledge of digital transformations and enable the business environment to keep pace with rapid developments in the fields of modern technology.
The session was attended by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber, a number of members of the Board of Directors, and His Excellency Muhammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, its General Manager.
The session presented by Dr. Obaid Saleh Al-Mukhtan, an expert in digital transformation and cybersecurity, discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on economies and the labor market, the most prominent investment opportunities it provides and its future prospects in light of the growth witnessed by this sector.
He expected the sector to contribute about $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030, while every dollar spent on artificial intelligence solutions is expected to generate an indirect economic return of up to $4.60 by the same year, with annual growth for this sector ranging between 25% and 35%, making it the fastest growing sector in human history through its applications in the health, energy, financial services and other sectors.
The pioneering UAE experience in artificial intelligence governance was reviewed, which included the launch of the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, the creation of the position of Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, which is the first of its kind in the world, and the establishment of the Emirates Council for Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain to supervise regulatory standards and policies and determine controls for the use of artificial intelligence in government services, in addition to issuing the Charter of Artificial Intelligence Ethics, which focuses on transparency, responsibility, justice, and privacy protection as a mandatory guide for ministries and government institutions.
