The growth of e-commerce records in Saudi Arabia by 9% in the first quarter of 2026


Commercial records existing in the e-commerce sector in Saudi Arabia increased by 9% during the first quarter of 2026, reaching 45,669 records, compared to 41,800 records in the same quarter of the previous year, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce.

Strengthening the e-commerce business system is one of the goals of the National Transformation Program in support of achieving the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, given the importance of e-commerce and its role in strengthening the national economy, especially since Saudi Arabia is one of the highest 10 countries that have grown in the field of e-commerce.

E-commerce records by region

according to Business Sector For the first quarter of 2026, issued by the Ministry of Commerce, the largest percentage of existing commercial records for e-commerce was concentrated in the Riyadh region, with 20,039 records, followed by the Mecca region with 11,569 records, then the Eastern Province (6,831), Medina (1,940), and Al-Qassim (1,467).

Delivery services via electronic platforms

The commercial records witnessed activity Delivery services via electronic platforms grew by 30% by the end of the first quarter of 2026, reaching 12,845 existing records, compared to 9,846 records in the same quarter of the previous year.

Riyadh topped the Saudi regions in terms of the number of existing commercial registrations for delivery services via electronic platforms, with 6,267 records, followed by the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region with 3,396 records, then the Eastern Province. With 1,465 records, Medina came in fourth place with 527 records, followed by the Qassim region with 299 records.
